A few common dental emergencies include loose and knocked-out teeth, cracked and damaged teeth, pulled-out fillings and crowns, serious toothaches, and bleeding gums. If you think that your condition counts as an emergency, you’re probably right. Call now at (602) 265-5155 to request an emergency dental appointment in Phoenix, AZ, and get the help you need from Dr. Harris.

Be Prepared

What Should I Do in a Dental Emergency?

If your tooth has been knocked out, you should recover it immediately, rinse it off, and place it into a container of cold milk, or put it back into its socket to keep it moist. You’ll need to see Dr. Harris within 1-2 hours to save your tooth, so call right away. If your tooth is just loose but hasn’t fallen out, leave it in place, and see Dr. Harris ASAP.

If you have a pulled-out filling or crown, recover it and call us for an emergency dental appointment. Put your dental work into a plastic bag to keep it safe, and bring it in with you to your appointment.

If you have a toothache, your gums are bleeding, or you have experienced an injury that has cracked or damaged your tooth, you should also call us right away to get an appointment with Dr. Harris.

Then, if you have time, you can take some steps to treat your pain, such as taking medicine like ibuprofen or acetaminophen or using a topical pain reliever like Orajel. Blood can be absorbed with clean paper towels or gauze. Applying an ice pack to your cheek for 10 minutes at a time can also help with pain and discomfort. Do what you can to stay comfortable, and come to our office for your appointment as soon as you can!
